A Chelsea move for Presnel Kimpembe has taken a significant step forward

Center back Presnel Kimpembe of PSG Source: PA Images Presnel Kimpembe’s potential move to Chelsea, which has grown more significant in recent days, has been discussed by PSG’s new boss. Next season, Chelsea’s defense will look completely different. Both free agents Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger departed for Spain. The Dane joined Barcelona, who may still sign Cesar Azpilicueta. Thomas Tuchel needs reinforcements badly since two legitimate center-halves and a fullback capable of playing in a back three are all likely going. Kalidou Koulibaly was selected first overall in the draft. The Blues completed a £33.8 million deal with Napoli on Friday. In his initial interview, Koulibaly disclosed which two Chelsea players helped make the choice to transfer to Stamford Bridge simple. Nathan Ake of Man City was anticipated to be acquired soon after. The Athletic reports the agreement is now off as Chelsea simply refused to agree to City’s hefty expectations. This raises speculation over Chelsea’s potential acquisition of France international Kimpembe after the Telegraph reported that the Blues are in contact with both PSG and the player’s agency. Chelsea allegedly wants a transfer to be completed as soon as feasible. Tuchel wants to get his new charges out on the practice field as soon as possible so that he can get them acclimated to his style of play with less than three weeks until the start of the new season. Galtier says a Chelsea transfer is possible. A £43 million cost would be sufficient to exert pressure on PSG, and its new manager, Christophe Galtier, has commented on the rumors. Galtier told L’Equipe, “I’ve read everything that’s been stated about Kimpembe (via Football London). “We even shared a joke about it. I like him; he’s a terrific center back, but I’m not sure what will transpire. Although those remarks don’t initially seem to reveal much, the fact that he hasn’t ruled out a move may be telling. Is Kimpembe still an improvement over Ake? The failure of the Ake deal could really turn out to be advantageous for the Blues. Dutchman has never performed well enough to get regular playing time at Etihad. At 27, he is in the prime of his career, leaving Blues supporters to ask why he would be good enough for them if he wasn’t good enough for City. Kimpembe, in contrast, has consistently played at the center of PSG’s defense for many years. Tuchel is familiar with him from when the German was in charge of PSG. What’s more, he has played alongside Thiago Silva in the past when the Brazilian was in Paris. Kimpembe is a veteran of numerous Champions League campaigns and has featured in the big games for France. On paper, the Parisian looks every bit a smarter buy than Ake.
