After being denied an armband during the World Cup in Qatar, Kai Havertz slams FIFA, saying, “It was the right thing to do.”

Kai Havertz of Germany and Chelsea has slammed FIFA for banning ‘One-Love’ armbands during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
England, Germany, and a number of other countries chose to wear rainbow armbands to show their support for the LGBTQ community. FIFA, however, prohibited the use of these armbands due to Qatar’s strict homosexuality laws.

Kai Havertz has accused FIFA of preventing teams from doing the right thing during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Chelsea attacker believes it is critical for players to step up and do what is necessary to show solidarity with marginalized groups.
Kai Havertz was quoted as saying the following to Wettfreunde (via Metro): “Of course, making a statement like this is important to us. Yeah, I think we talked about the game and what we could do, and it was the right thing to do for us. To demonstrate to the public that, yes, we do try to assist wherever we can. And, of course, FIFA makes it difficult for us. But we tried to demonstrate that now, with that.”
‘No matter how much FIFA tries, they will never be able to silence us.’ Kai Havertz and Manuel Neuer took shots at FIFA and discussed Germany’s historic loss to Japan at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. trib.al/RxtaR0T

Despite the fact that they were not permitted to wear the armband, Germany protested in their own way. The German starting XI covered their mouths with their hands during the pre-match picture before their first group stage match against Japan on November 23.
This was done to convey to the rest of the world that FIFA had silenced the players.
Germany vs. Japan in Group E of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar

At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Germany suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Japan.

Germany began their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign with a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Japan on November 23.
The 2014 world champions took the lead with a penalty converted by Ilkay Gundogan in the first half. Japan, on the other hand, scored twice in the second half, once through Ritsu Doan and once through Takuma Asano, to take all three points.

Germany has made another poor start to their World Cup campaign. During the 2018 tournament, the team lost 1-0 to Mexico in their first group stage match and finished at the bottom of their group. On Sunday, Die Mannschaft will face fellow European giants in Spain. Spain will enter the game in good spirits after defeating Costa Rica 7-0 in their first game of the tournament.
