Ethan Ampadu, a defender for Chelsea, spent the previous season on loan at Venezia of Serie A. Since coming home from his loan this summer, the 21-year-old has his sights set on making a name for himself in Thomas Tuchel’s lineup for the upcoming campaign.
Ampadu is a member of the Chelsea team that just flew to Los Angeles for a preseason trip.
The Welshman described the environment at their preseason camp in an interview that was published on the team’s official website.
It’s wonderful here, he declared. “The surroundings are wonderful, the weather is perfect, and it’s not a bad place to begin pre-season,” The campus where we are playing is rather stunning, and I’m hoping that this is the beginning of a successful two weeks for our team.
Every season is important, but I’d like to carry some of last year’s momentum into this preseason.
The versatility of Ethan Ampadu, who excels in both defense and midfield, is widely recognized. The 21-year-old is hoping that his adaptability will help him make a name for himself in Thomas Tuchel’s squad the next year.
He stated: “Everyone just wants to be on the field, and fortunately I am at ease playing multiple positions. I’m hoping to play this year for Chelsea and contribute to the team.” I’d be happy to play anywhere Thomas needs me to. Whether I’m playing center defense, midfield, or right wing-back, I’m more than at ease.”
Ethan Ampadu discussed Wales’ qualification for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar this year and referred to it as a dream come true.
It’s a significant year for me with the World Cup with Wales as well, and I think that because we qualified for this, following a couple of Euros qualifying, it indicates where we are going as a country.
We are all looking forward to it because it was an unbelievable sensation and night during qualifying. Even though we’ve all said it before, qualifying for the World Cup and having all eyes on November is truly a dream come true.”
Which teams will play against Chelsea on their preseason tour?
Ampadu will play for Wales in this year’s World Cup.
The Blues’ first preseason match is against Club America in Las Vegas tomorrow. They will then square off against Charlotte before playing Arsenal and Udinese to finish their game. In those settings, Thomas Tuchel plans to experiment as he continues to make preparations for the forthcoming season. The future performance of the Blues is still uncertain.
