Cooper wants Forest to sign more players as summer transfer window closes

In order to recruit more players, head coach Steve Cooper wants Nottingham Forest to speed up their signing process once more. When goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey signed a two-year contract on Friday, he became the Reds’ eighth new hire of the summer. The former Burnley player joined Cooper’s team after Taiwo Awoniyi, Dean Henderson, Giulian Biancone, Moussa Niakhate, Omar Richards, and Neco Williams. However, despite a dressing room makeover prior to the Premier League season, there are still several areas of the field where Forest has to improve. It is especially important to add midfield and attacking reinforcements, and the management is anxious to bring in more players as soon as possible. The performance of the Reds players at Oakwell: Relive Oakwell’s action here When asked if any deal was nearing completion, Cooper responded, “I truly hope so. Without a question, we require it. As we’ve already discussed, the squad’s turnaround was inevitable given the composition of the team last year in terms of loans. I believe we’ve improved and done extremely well in several areas. It has been slow in other areas, and we need to immediately rectify that. There is no question that we need more gamers to join us. That has slowed down a little, but we must ensure that it doesn’t continue to do so for too long. In their third preseason friendly, the Reds were held to a 0-0 draw against Barnsley, giving Williams and Hennessey their maiden Reds appearances. The former was selected for the starting lineup, and after 30 minutes of play, his teammate took Henderson’s place between the posts. The City Ground has had a summer of transition, with both arrivals and departures. Tobias Figueiredo, Gaetan Bong, Carl Jenkinson, and Lewis Grabban also left at the end of their contracts in addition to the loanees who returned to their parent clubs at the conclusion of the previous season. Jayden Richardson and Brice Samba have left the team permanently. Additionally, loaned players Riley Harbottle, Tyrese Fornah, Jonathan Panzo, Fin Back, and Mohamed Drager have left the team.
