Liverpool are allegedly close to completing a €100 million deal to capture Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, but that’s just the start of the summer transfer window.
One story dominates the headlines when it comes to Liverpool transfer news.
Darwin Nunez has allegedly agreed to a verbal contract with the Reds. Liverpool are poised to pay the Portuguese giants €80 million (approximately £68.3 million) for the Uruguay international, as well as an additional €20 million (about £17.1 million) in add-ons.
Nunez just finished a season in which he scored 34 goals and added four assists in 41 games for Benfica. He scored twice in Benfica’s Champions League quarter-final loss to Liverpool, and he has 11 senior caps for his country.
Nunez is anticipated to commit to Liverpool for a five-year contract. Sadio Mane’s departure is likely to coincide with his arrival. The 30-year-old Senegalese international is allegedly interested in joining Bayern Munich this summer. His current contract has one year left on it.

According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool has made an approach to sign Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen.
It’s believed the Reds are discussing a £4m transfer fee with the Scottish Premiership outfit for Ramsay, 18. Add-ons could bring the total to £2 million. Personal terms are not expected to be an issue, as Anfield is said to be the right-back’s preferred destination.
A number of clubs in England, Italy and Germany are reportedly interested in signing the Scotland U21 international. Ramsay made 33 appearances last season and was recently named the Scottish Football Writers’ Association’s Young Player of the Year.

Liverpool are not expected to sign Gavi this summer after Barcelona president Joan Laporta admitted they are “very close” to agreeing a new contract with the teenager.
As reported by the Liverpool ECHO, the Reds were willing to activate the 17-year-old’s release clause. Gavi impressed at the heart of Barcelona’s midfield in 2021-22 – making 47 appearances in all competitions – but has just one year left on his existing deal.
Yet Laporta has quashed speculation. As quoted by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the president said: “We are very close to reaching an agreement with Gavi to extend his contract… we are optimistic about the renewal of Gavi. We want him to continue at Barca.”
Fulham’s double swoop

Newly-promoted Fulham want to sign Liverpool duo Neco Williams and Takumi Minamino, according to 90min.
Williams, 21, spent the second half of the 2021-22 campaign on loan at the London outfit, helping them win the Championship title and promotion to the Premier League. He scored two goals and provided two assists during his 14 league appearances for Fulham.
Left-back Williams has struggled for minutes at Liverpool thanks to the brilliance of Andy Robertson and his understudy Kostas Tsimikas. The 20-cap Wales international has played just seven Premier League games for the Reds since winning the title in 2019-20.
Minamino, meanwhile, has failed to nail down a spot in Jurgen Klopp’s side since moving to Merseyside in January 2020. The 27-year-old has made just 30 Premier League outings for the Reds and spent time on loan at Southampton during the 2020-21 campaign.
As reported by the Liverpool ECHO, Fulham are expected to bid £32million for the pair. Liverpool are believed to value Williams at £15m and Minamino at £17m. Leeds also reportedly interested in signing the latter, who has 41 senior caps for Japan.
