Everton set to make fresh bid for Burnley winger Maxwell Cornet

The Daily Mail reports that Everton will make another offer for Maxwell Cornet, a player with connections to Nottingham Forest.

Due to a £17.5 million release clause in his contract, Burnley may be obliged to sell their top player this summer.

Forest’s attempts to sign the player have previously been unsuccessful, but Everton is still optimistic.

A number of players have been linked with a transfer to the City Ground, and the Reds are in desperate need of additional offensive alternatives.

Sterling’s signing for Chelsea is a perfect 10! Ranking This Summer’s Top 10 Premier League Transfers! Cornet joined Burnley only last summer, although he was powerless to stop the team’s relegation to the Championship the previous year.

He will play a role in the second tier if he stays at the club, but he is more than capable of playing in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old played 29 times in his first season in England. During the 2021–2022 season, he notched two assists in addition to his nine goals.

Right now, Cornet is wanted. He might return to the Premier League right away, but Everton and Forest will need to up their bids.

After Richarlison signed a £60 million contract with Tottenham, Frank Lampard is eager to bolster his team this season.

Both teams are looking to strengthen, and it appears that the Reds and Everton are competing for many of the same players.

Cornet may not be a good fit for Forest if Everton makes another offer for him.

Because Forest doesn’t utilize true wingers, it might be difficult for them to finish this one. Everton do, and his fashion may be more appropriate for them.

Forest is unlikely to spend $17.5 million for a player who doesn’t fit in with the team naturally. Having said that, Steve Cooper hasn’t always instructed a player to act in a particular way.

Cornet is quick and would be a good addition. It’s hardly surprising that a reputable team like Everton is interested in signing him, and more teams could still show interest.

The 29-cap star is a very valuable player, but Cooper may not think so now that he isn’t quite as perfectly suited to the Forest system for the coming season. Do you have a comment about this article?
