Everton have increased their efforts in recent weeks to strengthen Frank Lampard’s position ahead of the new season, but the Toffees still have a few targets they would like to sign before the transfer window closes. Loading Video Unavailable video Football Digest Powers the Press Pack The transfer market may not have moved as quickly as some Everton fans would have liked this summer, but there are signs that Frank Lampard and the Goodison board are about to pick up the pace significantly. Richarlison’s departure to Tottenham on a big-money deal has provided a kitty for the Toffees, but with only three through the door so far, reinforcements are needed. Goodison Park signals that there could be movement on a number of targets this week, including a midfielder and winger. The latest Everton transfer news, rumours, and gossip has been compiled by Mirror Sport. Gueye’s reappearance Those close to the negotiations believe a deal to bring Idrissa Gueye back to Goodison Park is imminent. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, who spent three years at Everton from 2016 to 2019, wants out of the French club where he has fallen down the pecking order. According to Foot Mercato, Everton are eager to provide an escape route. The Ligue 1 champions are hopeful of a deal with Everton for Gueye. The midfielder is expected to join the club on a permanent basis. A deal could be reached this week. EXPRESS YOURSELF! How will Everton fare this year? Tell us in the comments section.

Toffees reportedly in talks with Chelsea striker According to Football.London, Everton have ‘entered’ talks to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi. The Blues have increased their summer transfer activity in the last week, with Dwight McNeil and Ruben Vinagre joining James Tarkowski. And if they can agree on a fee, Maxwel Cornet could follow McNeil from Burnley to Everton. However, they must still replace Richarlison, who left Goodison Park to join Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur. According to the report, Everton may have found a replacement for the Brazilian, as they are said to have begun talks about a permanent move for Batshuayi, who played under Frank Lampard at Chelsea. The Belgian international joined Stamford Bridge from Marseille in 2016, but has spent the majority of his time with the London club on loan. Batshuayi has previously played for Borussia Dortmund, Valencia, Crystal Palace, and, most recently, Besiktas. Gbamin is open to bids. According to The Times, the Toffees are willing to listen to offers for midfielder Jean-Phillippe Gbamin. Gbamin has become surplus as Lampard plans to upgrade his midfield area, with Gueye as a target. And that could mean the Ivorian, who has only appeared eight times for Everton in the three seasons since his £25 million move from Mainz in 2019. Gbamin has never been able to show Everton fans what he is capable of due to Achilles tendon rupture and hamstring issues. And, since February of this year, he has spent the last four months of his Everton career on loan at CSKA Moscow. Continue Reading
