According to rumours, Frenkie de Jong has already emptied his locker at Barcelona’s training complex ahead of his move to Manchester United.
United are still in talks with Catalan giants about a summer transfer for the Netherlands international. Erik ten Hag is eager to rejoin with his former Ajax teammate De Jong, whom he sees as a perfect fit for his new side.
Negotiations haven’t been without stumbling blocks, with the two parties’ values remaining a long way off. Barcelona, on the other hand, has intimated that they may be willing to split ways with De Jong due to the club’s financial woes.

De Jong might also be on his way to Old Trafford, according to rumours in Spain. After Ten Hag managed to turn his head, AS reports that the 25-year-old has cleared his belongings from Barca’s Ciutat Esportiva training camp.
Until now, the midfielder has been clear about his desire to remain at the Nou Camp beyond this summer. However, with talks allegedly intensifying, De Jong might be one step closer to joining United.
In other news, the Reds have been linked with a deal for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, with reports in Italy claiming United is’serious’ about signing the midfielder. However, they aren’t the only team interested in his services.
According to Corriere Dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Rabiot is one of the players Juventus is willing to sell this summer in order to obtain finances for a roster rebuilding. The 27-year-old, on the other hand, is not under any pressure to leave Turin and would still be a frequent starter if he stayed.
Despite this, the report states that United is one among the clubs interested in Rabiot, who is available for roughly €15 million to €20 million. Chelsea and Newcastle have also been mentioned as potential destinations, with Paris Saint-Germain also being mentioned.
