Inter Milan interested in Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon

Tottenham Hotspur are said to have offered out-of-favour defender Sergio Reguilon to Serie A powerhouse Inter Milan this summer. Tottenham Hotspur are keen to offload Spanish left-back Sergio Reguilon this summer, according to Calciomercato, and have made offers to clubs across Europe, including Inter Milan. Reguilon joined Tottenham from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020. The 25-year-old arrived following an impressive loan spell with Sevilla, where he helped the club win the UEFA Europa League. Despite flashes of brilliance, the Spanish international has never been able to cement a place in Tottenham’s starting lineup. Reguilon’s situation only worsened after Antonio Conte was appointed manager midway through the previous season. For the most part, the Italian preferred Ryan Sessegnon over Reguilon before bringing in Ivan Perisic this summer to make the former Real Madrid ace surplus to requirements at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Reguilon was not included in Tottenham’s pre-season squad that traveled to Asia. Sevilla has expressed interest in bringing the 25-year-old back to Spain. A shock move to Barcelona has also been discussed, though the Catalans may be reluctant to sign him due to his history with Real Madrid. Inter Milan are a player short in the left wing-back department after losing Ivan Perisic to the Lilywhites, with Robin Gosens the only natural player in the position. Federico Dimarco could be an option, but Simone Inzaghi has preferred to use him as a left-sided centre-back in recent years. As a result, there may be room in the Nerazzurri squad for a new left-sided wing-back. However, the report does not state whether the Italian giants are interested in signing Reguilon. Furthermore, given their precarious financial situation, whether they can afford to sign the Tottenham Hotspur star remains an open question. As a result, a transfer to San Siro appears unlikely for the Spaniard, who could be returning to his homeland, with Sevilla emerging as the most likely destination.
