Cesare Casadei, an Inter Milan midfield prospect, is said to prefer joining Chelsea over Ligue 1 club OGC Nice this summer. Chelsea have received a major boost in their pursuit of Cesare Casadei, according to Corriere dello Sport, via Sport Witness, as the Inter Milan midfielder prefers to join the Blues over OGC Nice, who also want to sign him. Casadei’s performances for Inter Milan’s Primavera have earned him a reputation as one of the best young midfield prospects in Italy. The 19-year-old has 24 goals and seven assists in 65 appearances for them but has yet to make his Nerazzurri debut. Despite not having played a single minute of senior football, Casadei has sparked a lot of interest due to his potential. Chelsea have shown a strong interest in signing the 19-year-old and have already had an offer for his services rejected by Inter Milan, who want €15 million for the teenager. Chelsea is willing to meet that valuation, but OGC Nice is also interested in the youngster. According to the report, Casadei prefers a move to Chelsea over a move to the Ligue 1 club, giving the Blues a significant advantage in their pursuit of the 19-year-old. Chelsea has yet to offer anything close to the €15 million Inter are demanding, but it is expected that they will do so eventually. Chelsea have already signed a young midfield prodigy in Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa this summer. But that hasn’t stopped them from pursuing Casadei as well. With Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek expected to leave and N’Golo Kante and Jorginho in their thirties, Chelsea could benefit from bringing in another midfielder. Casadei has shown great promise in his youth career and could be a valuable asset to Chelsea in the future if he is signed. With the midfielder reportedly preferring a move to Stamford Bridge, a move could happen soon.
