Juventus take on Real Madrid in a friendly at the Rose Bowl on Saturday night.

Jul-31 03:11 first published at 03:11 AM

Juventus will play in a stadium with an attendance of somewhere in the 90,000s on the final night of the tour through the United States — the best part, by the way, since Juve has been based out West.

That’s a lot of information.
And you know what would be nice to see happen in front of so many people (even if many of them won’t like it)? That would be to perform well in front of such a large crowd and carry some positive energy back to Italy to finish the weekend.
Juventus’ tour of the United States has produced some positive and negative results, which is to be expected from a team that has only a few weeks of preseason training under their belts and a roster that is constantly changing due to arrivals and departures.
According to Max Allegri earlier in the day, we will see Dusan Vlahovic and Weston McKennie — the two non-goalkeepers who have yet to appear on the United States tour — get some minutes against Real Madrid. And that’s good because we haven’t seen how Vlahovic links up with Angel Di Maria or how McKennie fits into Juve’s midfield puzzle now that Paul Pogba may be out for a few months. (By the way, we’re still waiting for confirmation on that.)
That seems like enough reason to pay attention to what happens at the Rose Bowl tonight.
In fact, Juventus is playing its final summer friendly before things get serious in a little over two weeks.
For the time being, things won’t matter much other than getting up to speed, getting some match fitness, and hopefully putting on a good show.
Oh, and hopefully no one else gets hurt this close to the season. That would be great.
