Star for Manchester City Aymeric Laporte opened up to RMC Sport on Kylian Mbappe’s decision to stay with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and sign a new three-year deal.
Despite the 23-year-high old’s demand from Real Madrid, Mbappe decided to stay at Parc des Princes.
The decision made by the French star startled a lot of football fans, including Manchester City defender Laporte.
RMC Sport questioned him about choosing Mbappe, to which he responded: “I think everyone was astonished.” We don’t focus too much on the transfer window as players. Even though we are aware of them, we will nonetheless do some research on them before every game.
Since moving to Paris from AS Monaco in 2017, Mbappe has acted as the team’s talisman. Last year, he played 48 games and scored 39 goals.
For the upcoming season, Christophe Galtier, who replaced Mauricio Pochettino at the Parc des Princes, will serve as the 23-year-new old’s manager.
Laporta also spoke about the appointment of the former OGC Nice manager, saying: “Any coach can be trusted to join PSG or a top European team. Keep an eye out for any potential threats or minor trickery. As City, we cannot be defeated, thus we must pay attention to how we perform.

Will Kylian Mbappé ever play at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium, given the recent criticism the Frenchman received for refusing to sign with Real Madrid? 💭 According to Luka Modric, the Real players won’t ‘crucify’ the striker for his choice. ⚪️ https://t.co/uYdtapJ5nr
