The Cristiano Ronaldo transfer saga is coming to an end as the summer transfer window approaches the September 1 deadline. According to G+, the Portuguese footballer is now willing to join Napoli. After only qualifying for the Europa League with Manchester United, the 37-year-old is said to be desperate to play in the Champions League this season. Ronaldo has found himself on the United bench in recent games, with the Red Devils defeating Southampton and Liverpool. Manchester United is reportedly willing to continue paying Ronaldo’s salary while he is on loan to Napoli for the season. Manchester United has also been linked with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, who is worth at least 100 million Euros ($9,99,14,000). However, it appears that the club’s interest in the Nigerian international will only grow if they are unable to sign Antony from Ajax. The footballer has asked to be released from the Eredivisie club. If the two clubs can agree on a fee by Thursday, he will be reunited with Ten Hag at Old Trafford. According to ESPN, Osimhen’s agent stated that United has made no contact with him. On Saturday evening, Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti did not rule out signing Ronaldo. “If you’re asking me if I’d like to work with Ronaldo, I tell you no coach would say no to that,” Spalletti said. “However, if we go into those areas where journalists like to fill in for themselves, then there are no negotiations,” he added. He revealed that when he spoke with president Aurelio De Laurentiis, he told Spalletti, “he received no offer, so let’s stay as realistic as possible here and consider only things that could happen.” Meanwhile, Ten Hag has expressed willingness to let Ronaldo leave, but the club’s co-chairman Joel Glazer has resisted any potential sale, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The failure of Manchester United to qualify for the Champions League is said to be the primary motivator behind Ronaldo’s desire to leave the club. Ronaldo and the club’s players have had their pay cut by 25%. This occurred as they finished outside the top four in the Premier League. Ronaldo was also said to be dissatisfied with United’s sluggish transfer activity.
