Alexis Sanchez, a former Arsenal and Manchester United player, has agreed to leave Inter Milan after mutually terminating his contract.

The 33-year-old is reportedly set to join French club Marseille after a turbulent time in Italy, where he scored just 16 league goals in three seasons at AC Milan.

According to The Mirror, Sanchez has already agreed personal terms on a two-year contract with Marseille, with formalities set to be completed between the two parties in the coming days. Sanchez will spend another season in the Champions League after Marseille finished second in the Ligue 1 standings last season. They began their new 22/23 season with a 4-1 victory over Reims on Sunday. The Chilean was a regular under Inter Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi, making 39 appearances in all competitions last season as the club was defeated by cross-city rivals AC Milan for the Serie A title. Former Arsenal full-back Sead Kolasinac is another name Sanchez will recognize. The Chilean will continue his Champions League career at Ligue 1 club Marseille. However, his lucrative contract was torn up after Inzaghi made it clear that the winger was no longer wanted at the San Siro. Sanchez is eager to resurrect his career after a high-profile move to Manchester United in 2018 ended in disaster, with the forward scoring just five goals in 45 appearances under then-manager Jose Mourinho. He then helped end Juventus’ Serie A domination as Inter Milan lifted their first league title in 10 years along with winning the the Coppa Italia, and the Supercoppa Italiana. With new manager Igor Tudor eager to bring his own style of football to the south of France, a move to Marseille gives him the opportunity to help the French side end PSG’s Ligue 1 dominance.
