Monterrey will face Olympique Lyon in the final of the 2022 Women’s International Champions Cup

On Saturday, Olympique Lyon Women will play CF Monterrey Femenil in the final of the 2022 Women’s International Champions Cup.
The French champions qualified for the finals after defeating Chelsea in a penalty shootout in the semifinals.

Sam Kerr and Lauren James scored in each half to give the Blues a two-goal lead, but Lyon’s late comeback forced the game into penalties. The European champions advanced to the final with a 4-3 shootout victory.

Monterrey also needed penalties to defeat the Timbers of Portland in the semifinals. Diana Garcia’s second-half goal cancelled out Marissa Everett’s opener for the Timbers, and the Mexican champions won the shootout 3-2.

Monterrey vs. Olympique Lyon Head-to-Head
This will be the two sides’ first official meeting. Lyon qualified for the tournament by winning the 2021-22 UEFA Women’s Champions League, while Monterrey is the Liga MX Femenil champion.
