Barcelona is reportedly considering loaning Frenkie de Jong out this summer in order to get his salary off the books. According to SPORT, Barcelona is considering loaning Frenkie de Jong out during the current transfer window in order to get rid of his massive wages this summer. Frenkie de Jong has been with Barcelona for three years and has been an ever-present in the side during that time, despite failing to reach the heights expected of him. And his time at Camp Nou may be coming to an end, as the Blaugrana are desperate to get rid of him this summer. Manchester United is very interested in signing de Jong. The Red Devils have already agreed to a possible transfer with Barcelona in a deal worth €85 million, including add-ons. De Jong, on the other hand, has refused to consider a move to Old Trafford due to a lack of Champions League football. However, Barcelona is desperate to get the Netherlands international off their books because releasing his massive wages would allow them to easily register new signings while remaining in compliance with La Liga salary cap regulations. As a result, they are now willing to consider loaning the midfielder to another club. Frenkie de Jong is hesitant to leave. However, neither of those clubs would be willing to pay as much as Manchester United to sign the 25-year-old midfielder during the current transfer window. It has compelled Barcelona to consider a loan exit for de Jong with a purchase obligation. The Catalans are hoping that by allowing him to leave on loan, at least a portion of his wages, if not all of them, will be off the books, making room for the new arrivals. Barcelona would be willing to loan de Jong out but would insist on an obligatory purchase clause in the amount of €80 million. It will be interesting to see if Chelsea or Bayern Munich would consider such a move, or if another club steps forward to sign the Dutch international. At this point, a move to Manchester United appears unlikely.
