Moussa Diaby remains a target for Newcastle United as Eddie Howe wants to expand his attacking options. The club’s primary forward target is the Frenchman, however the Magpies are also interested in acquiring a winger and a striker before the transfer window shuts. Alexander Isak’s record agreement with the club has been discussed, but Diaby is apparently still the club’s first priority. The 23-year-asking old’s price is still a problem, though. How much Moussa Diaby is worth to Leverkusen Newcastle would probably have to pay a club record sum to acquire Diaby from Leverkusen. Joelinton, who we recently acquired for £40 million in 2019, is our most expensive acquisition to date. For good reason, a deal for Diaby would probably be worth more than that. He is a great football player who has the potential to advance us. His last season’s performances in Germany were amazing. He contributed 25 goals to Leverkusen’s third-place Bundesliga campaign. He is reportedly worth little around £51 million, according to The Northern Echo. Newcastle, though, feels that amount to be excessive. Newcastle thinks they can wrangle a better bargain. Newcastle allegedly thinks the price can be reduced, even though Leverkusen has set their price. The Toon recruitment team is convinced that they can work out a lesser transfer fee for Diaby, according to the Northern Echo. Serena Taylor/Newcastle United provided this picture via Getty Images. What remains to be seen is how much lower. Leverkusen doesn’t need to sell and is eager to play in the Champions League once more. Furthermore, Diaby doesn’t seem to be planning a relocation. Newcastle allegedly wants to spend £40 million on Diaby, but that sum is insufficient. I’m hoping a deal can be worked out and he joins the Toon team. Fans are hoping for players like Diaby, who has been called “extremely dangerous.” It would be a deal of a similar caliber to the one that brought in Bruno Guimaraes, who has been nothing short of a revelation in both black and white. Although signing Diaby is proving to be more difficult, Newcastle still has time. The owners of the Toons won’t give up and will make one last effort to get his signature.
