Several months after the Qatar World Cup 2022 begins, Neymar He was questioned about his participation in the edition played in the United States, and he began a phrase that called his future with the Brazilian national team into question.
“I want to play in this cup, I want to devote myself to it because I am confident that we have the potential to go very far,” he said in an interview with TV Globo.

Despite the presence of recent stars such as Vinicius Jr. and Richardson, among others, the PSG striker Tite-led team has high hopes. “I can’t guarantee I’ll play another cup, honestly I don’t know,” Tite said. But I want to play like it’s my last world cup,” he said of the 2026 edition, which will be held jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

At his club, he is a luxury striker alongside Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, so the big challenge this season will be to win the Champions League for the first time with the Parisian team.

Ney, 30, is confident that he will be able to give his all in Qatar, but he is unsure whether he will be able to compete in the next World Cup.

Neymar’s World Cup participation

So far, the Brazilian star has appeared in two World Cups. His first bus ride was in Brazil in 2014, and his second in Russia in 2018.
In the first, he was eliminated in a historic 7-1 semi-final loss to Germany, despite the fact that he was injured in the quarter-final against Colombia. In another, he bowed out of the quarterfinals against Belgium, losing 2-1 on the court with him.

In 10 World Cup appearances, he has six goals and six assists. The challenge in Qatar is to keep increasing these figures. Brazil is in Group E, along with Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon.
