According to multiple French reports, Paris Saint-Germain is considering a late summer bid for Manchester City attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva.
This summer, Manchester City lost several players from their squad. They have said good-by to Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, and Oleksandr Zinchenko, all of whom have joined Premier League rivals.
Bernardo Silva is the latest player to be linked with a departure. Since 2017, when he joined from Monaco, the Portugal international has represented the Premier League champions.
Silva, who is currently contemplating his future, is a target for Barcelona. A move to La Liga would be appealing to him.
He may, however, have the opportunity to return to Ligue 1 with PSG. The French champions are interested in signing Silva, according to Le10 Sport and Foot Mercato.
Luis Campos is currently playing an important role in PSG’s summer transfer business. He was the man who signed him from Benfica to Monaco in 2014 and remains a huge fan.
PSG, like City, will pay close attention to player exits during the remainder of the transfer window. However, if there is still time before the September 1 deadline, Silva is someone they will pursue.
Silva could cost between €80m (£66.9m) and €85m (£71.1m), according to Foot Mercato, who were following up on Le10 Sport’s original story.
According to their report, Silva is open to returning to French football, despite previously indicating a preference for Barcelona.
PSG is a viable option for Bernardo Silva.
PSG, like Manchester City, has wealthy owners, allowing them to dominate their domestic scene in recent years. Both clubs’ trophy cabinets, however, are devoid of Champions League trophies.
They are all working hard to improve in order to make an impression in Europe. Silva is a world-class player who can help either cause.
He is in the prime of his career at the age of 27. Last season, he scored 13 goals in all competitions, matching his career high.
He’s under contract with Man City until 2025, so there’s no rush to get rid of him. However, in a summer in which City has received praise for balancing the books, they could make an even stronger impression by cashing in on Silva.
However, they will not want to be too short in the attacking areas. Both the club and their player would have a lot to consider. Salah’s brilliance ‘exposed’ Man City’s only weakness, as pundits predict Guardiola will make a big transfer gamble.
