That was due to the Serie A club putting him on a special diet after he arrived from Manchester United out of shape in 2019.
Lukaku admitted to being overweight at Old Trafford due to a digestive problem that was resolved in Italy.
And it was a Mediterranean diet of salad, fish, chicken, and pasta that catapulted him to Inter’s championship glory.
They are hoping that history will repeat itself after he put on weight during his disastrous 12-month stint at Chelsea last season.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Lukaku, who is back on loan from Chelsea, is being forced to work hard in training and is on a personalised diet to get back into top physical shape.
Lukaku’s weight was down to 101kg (15st 9lbs) at the end of the 2021 season, which he is now aiming to regain after it worked so well the first time when he scored 64 goals in 95 appearances.
During his first season in Serie A, the forward previously discussed his eating habits, saying, “Since I joined Inter, I have changed my diet, and I can say that I have never felt so strong.”
Salads for lunch, a lot of chicken breast, and Shirataki pasta make up my diet.

“I like carbs and I like potatoes, sweet potatoes, and black rice, but I don’t eat much pasta.”
I’ve always been an explosive player with muscles, but Italy propelled me to new heights. I’ve never felt so powerful. I’ve advanced to a new level, both physically and mentally.”
“I consume a lot of carbohydrates after games,” Lukaku added. Depending on what the chef has prepared, I usually eat two packs of gnocchi. They circulate quickly and greatly assist me. ” I also eat two plates of gnocchi after the matches!”
After leaving Chelsea, the Belgian is said to have returned to Inter overweight.
