This season’s Champions League will pit Napoli against United’s archrivals Liverpool, Rangers, and Dutch champion Ajax.
While Ronaldo is eager to play in Europe’s biggest rivalry, the Purple Devils will only compete in the second-tier Europa League after finishing sixth in the Premier League last season, despite the striker’s 18 league goals.
After being rejected by Europe’s top clubs, Ronaldo’s well-known supervisor Jorge Mendes has arrived at Napoli (according to Sky Italy), hoping to spark a commerce deal that will see Napoli’s Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen nearing the end of his transfer window.
Before signing Gabriel Jesus from Manchester Metropolis, Osimhen drew interest from Premier League giants such as United, Chelsea, and Arsenal.
The 23-year-old player, who moved from Lille to Napoli in 2020, scored 26 goals in 53 games.
Napoli will reportedly cost a high price along with a swap deal, with Sky Italy reporting asking prices in the nine figures.
“There aren’t any ongoing negotiations or commerce deal talks,” Osimhen’s manager Roberto Calenda stated. “Osimhen’s a Napoli player and he needs to play Champions League with Napoli, proud to be at UCL.”
UNITED, AS THE PLAYER SAID
Ajax rejected Manchester United’s new offer of 90 million euros ($130 million) for Antony. Nonetheless, the 22-year-old Brazilian winger, who has scored two goals in nine international appearances, has taken to the media in a bombastic move to demand a transfer to Old Trafford.
Antony revealed to switch guru Fabrizio Romano that their supervisor had requested an end-of-season switch in February.
He claims he informed the membership’s new supervisor and board of directors of his intention to leave in June.
“I used to be very at ease in Amsterdam, I received titles at Ajax, I made friends, and it was a part of my career, but now I’m reinforcing that I’m ready and motivated to follow my story and my goals.”
“I’m not asking Ajax to launch me; rather, I’m asking Ajax to promote me on the highest bid ever made for an Eredivisie participant.” “I’ve been insisting on this theme since February in order for the membership to rebuild the group with peace of mind,” he explained.
