Sanchez says Tottenham are ready for Champions League challenge

Since joining Tottenham Hotspur, Davinson Sanchez has said that there has been talk about his future “every summer.” He also lauded the club’s recent additions as having increased competition for positions at the club. Sanchez, 26, made the club record signing when he transferred from Ajax to Tottenham in 2017 for £42 million. In his debut season in north London, he participated in nearly 30 Premier League games, but since then, he has been employed more as a rotational option, starting just 17 games in the top level last year. Sanchez has stated that it’s a good thing that there is competition for positions despite Tottenham this summer adding defender Clement Lenglet to their roster on a loan from Barcelona. When questioned about rumors that he was affiliated with other teams, Sanchez responded, “Every summer it’s been the same. I’ve been here for six seasons now. Of course, our attention is on the squad and what the upcoming season means for this organization. However, the Premier League is the best league in the world, and if you want to compete with the best players, you must be a member. Of course, there are always opportunities. He continued, “The squad level is going to increase for sure,” regarding Tottenham’s activity during the summer transfer window. We’re striving for it, not just in my position, but we have at least two players for each position, which is wonderful. Competing and challenging with my team members always improves the healthy competition in the group. Sanchez singled out Antonio Conte as a deserving recipient of commendation. In his six years in north London, Sanchez has played under four different permanent managers; Conte is the first since Mauricio Pochettino to lead the team back into the Champions League. Since the manager arrived, the players have been prepared, according to Sanchez. “He provides a different perspective and way of thinking. Last year, as players, we attempted to implement his wishes onto the field. “We want to make as many improvements as we can in order to prepare for the Champions League.
