SunSport has put together a team of the top players who will be watching this year’s World Cup finals at home or on the beach.
Erling Haaland, a standout for Borussia Dortmund, is in the starting lineup for the best XI absent from the World Cup.
Despite being one of the world’s most productive attackers, Haaland’s Norway could only place third in their qualification group.
Norway, which was captained by Arsenal player Martin Odegaard and placed third overall behind the Netherlands and Turkey, was one of the stars that did not qualify for the World Cup.

The Premier League’s leading scorer won’t be in Qatar because the Egypt forward missed a penalty in Tuesday’s shootout loss to Senegal.
After Colombia was defeated by Peru for the final play-off berth in South America, Luis Diaz, a teammate of Salah’s from Liverpool, begins on the left.
Another well-known player who won’t be traveling to Qatar is Riyad Mahrez. Algeria was eliminated by Cameroon in spectacular fashion.

A Cameroon qualified for the tournament on away goals thanks to a goal by Karl Toko Ekambi in the fourth minute of overtime stoppage time.
Jorginho and Yves Bissouma, both from the Premier League, are the center of the midfield.
Brighton’s Bissouma will remain at home when the tournament begins in November as a result of Mali’s loss to Tunisia.
Jorginho, a player for Chelsea who placed third in the 2021 Ballon d’Or polls, is another notable omission.

As a result of the humiliating loss, Jorginho has joined teammates from the national team Leonardo Spinazzola and Giorgio Chellini in the top XI of players who will not be attending the World Cup.
After his team was eliminated by Poland in the play-off on Tuesday, Victor Lindelof, the captain of Sweden and a defender for Manchester United, completes the back three.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexander Isak are two other noteworthy Swedish World Cup absentees.
The lineup is completed by Atletico Madrid goalie Jan Oblak after Slovenia finished last in their qualifying group.
Scotland and Wales have not yet received official word about their World Cup participation.

However, if both countries do not advance, players like Gareth Bale, Andrew Robertson, and Kieran Tierney may all be contenders for a best XI that does not travel to the World Cup.
The World Cup begins on November 21 and concludes on December 18, giving football fans an early Christmas present.
