Chelsea are interested in Benjamin Pavard, who would like to move to Stamford Bridge, but there is a snag. Also, an update on Manchester United and Benjamin Sesko…
PAVARD KEEN IN CHELSEA
Chelsea are said to be interested in Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard. Keep it quiet in case Barcelona finds out.
The Blues have been linked with the France international, and after missing out on Jules Kounde, Thomas Tuchel is said to be focusing on the 26-year-old.
Pavard has spent the majority of his career as a right-back, but it appears he wants to switch positions, with centre-back now said to be his preferred position. Which is exactly what Chelsea needs.
And, according to Bild, the Blues’ interest in Pavard is very much appreciated. He is said to be interested in joining Tuchel at Stamford Bridge if Chelsea make a suitable offer.
According to the same report, Bayern expects him to stay at least temporarily while new signing Noussair Mazraoui adjusts to Bundesliga life.
Tuchel’s reliance on Thiago Silva is bad news for Chelsea’s Gallagher and Broja.
REAL PASSION FOR BLUES STRIKER
Tuchel may be shedding forwards while Chelsea is looking for defenders…
According to the Evening Standard, the Blues have been approached by Real Madrid about the availability of Armando Broja, who spent last season on loan at Southampton.
Chelsea were open to offers for the Albania striker earlier this summer, but Tuchel has been preparing for the start of the season with Broja in mind, even if Real Madrid, Everton, Newcastle, and’several’ Italian clubs remain interested.
Timo Werner may also be on his way back to RB Leipzig, according to Bild, who reports that the Germany striker has agreed to a 50% pay cut. A loan with a purchase clause is in the works.
THE UNITED WAY OFF THE SESKO DEAL
In recent days, there have been rumblings about Manchester United’s interest in Benjamin Sesko. The Red Devils are said to have met with the RB Salzburg striker’s agent to discuss a move to Old Trafford.
According to the Manchester Evening News, a meeting between John Murtough and Elvis Basanovic, the 19-year-representative, old’s took place on Wednesday.
Reaching an agreement with Salzburg will be much more difficult, as they are expecting at least £55 million for the teenager, which The Telegraph describes as “far more than United would be willing to pay.”
