PSG will reportedly loan Gini Wijnaldum out this summer, with Wolves recently linked with the player. According to reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano, the French giants have ‘confirmed’ the sale of the Dutch international. EVERY Season’s Biggest One-Season Wonder (2001-02 to 2021-22) Paris Saint-Germain and Gini Wijnaldum have agreed to part ways this summer, according to reports. Work is being done to find a new club as soon as possible, and PSG is willing to loan him out in the coming days or weeks. 🚨🇳🇱 #PSGAS Roma is very interested, but there has been no official bid. pic.twitter.com/x24KfanfI1 Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) — July 22, 2022 The club is now looking for a buyer for him for the 2022/23 season. They want him out of there as soon as possible. Vitinha, a former Wanderers loanee, has already joined PSG this summer. In addition, they have been linked with a move for Renato Sanches. Wijnaldum would clearly struggle for minutes at the Parc des Princes if he stayed put. So he’ll be leaving, and the only question now is where he’ll end up. AS Roma, led by Jose Mouirnho, is said to be’very interested.’ Wolves were linked with Wijnaldum earlier this month. The club was said to be monitoring the player’s situation. It remains to be seen whether Wolves will attempt to bring the star back to the Premier League. Wanderers currently lack depth in midfield. Bruno Lage has Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Leander Dendoncker, and Luke Cundle among his players. Morgan Gibbs-White, if he stays at the club, could also play central. And Connor Ronan could still be a member of the squad in 2022/23. Wolves should see if Gini Wijnaldum is interested in a move to Molineux. So it appears that Wijnaldum will be playing for a different team in 2022/23. His relocation to the Parc des Princes has simply not worked out. But Wolves should not be deterred. If Wijnaldum is open to a move, signing him on loan is certainly worth considering. His reported £160,000-a-week wages could be a sticking point, but Wolves could see if PSG would agree to pay a portion. He can fill a variety of midfield roles, and as we all know, Lage values versatility in his players. Jurgen Klopp described the 31-year-old as “one of the smartest players he’s ever coached.” He’s also a leader. Wolves have already lost a few of those this summer, so he’d be a great addition to the squad.
