According to Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports, Arsenal hasn’t stopped communicating with or showing interest in Youri Tielemans, but they haven’t yet made an official offer.
When the transfer market started, Tielemans thought his move was already scheduled to happen—ideally to Arsenal. However, Arsenal’s hesitation to make a bid leaves the door open for Manchester United, who might make a bid.
James Benge adds that Oleksandr Zinchenko, who is at home in midfield, may present problems for Arsenal even though the two teams’ estimates of Tielemans are just about £5 million away.
According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal has postponed signing Tielemans until after players depart, which makes sense.
Aside from the potential permanent sale of Matteo Guendouzi to Marseille for almost £10 million, Mikel Arteta and Edu have already signed four players, with Zinchenko expected to become the fifth.
Arsenal won’t likely be able to keep adding players to the team until players like Lucas Torreira, Pablo Mari, and Bernd Leno finish their anticipated moves elsewhere.

In recent days, Brendan Rodgers has also commented about the predicament of Tielemans.
There is absolutely no update, Rodgers said. “It’s a pleasure to work with him. He enjoys his job and is content to be at the club. With a year left on his contract, he may, however, feel compelled to consider everything for himself and his family.
“I’ll have a wonderful conversation with Youri next week to learn more about his thoughts in private. But regardless of whether he leaves or stays for another five years, he will remain extremely committed.
According to a new report by Fabrizio Romano, Tielemans is still expected to sign with Arsenal, but other teams are beginning to show interest in the midfielder for Leicester City.
In order to raise money for their summer business, Leicester are eager to sell Tielemans’ contract, which expires in 2023.
